Yesterday marked the beginning of PokerStars’ Turbo Championship of Online Poker. The 11-day tournament event has 50 individual events and over $10 million in total prize money will be given away. Mind you the $10 million guaranteed is only a low-ball number. Most think the prize money will far sur the $10 million mark, but that is yet to be seen. After all, PokerStars is the world’s largest online poker site. The tournament is not only reserved for high rollers either, there are buy-ins that suit every type of player. The highest buy-in costs $2,100 and that is the High-Roller event, and the cheapest buy-in is only $22. The most anticipated event of the whole series is the NLHE Main Event that has a buy-in of $700. The prize pool to this event is set at a minimum of $1.5 million. NLHE will happen on January 29th. There are plenty of other events, some ordinary and some are special and unique, but most have prize pools of over $100,000. In an 11 day span of time you have so many chances to make away with some great cash thanks to PokerStars. All in all, this inaugural event is sure to be huge. It seems like every time PokerStars is in the news they are trying to improve their site and bolster their position of being the best online poker provider around. The news and beginning of the TCOOP come just days after Gabi Campos, long-time CEO of PokerStars, stepped down from his position. No replacement has been named yet but everyone is waiting with anticipation. 1y6n4f
